On Wednesday, 23 September, six of Australia’s rising comedy, writing, radio and television talents will be on stage in Sydney performing a new sketch-comedy show, made specially for radio. Come and be part of the studio audience.
This may be Brisbane’s only chance to catch Kate McLennan’s hit show.

There are three troupes performing sketch comedy at RMIT’s Kaleide Theatre for MICF 09, with hopes that this may merely be the first year that the Kaleide acts as a hub for sketch comedy shows. They’ve chosen a great venue: the audience was certainly keen as well – both shows I attended were full houses, ready and willing to laugh.
Full Body Contact No Love Tennis is a showcase for long form impro … Solid entertainment fueled by nerves and punctuated with laugh out loud moments…Beaconsfield the Musical is a timely reminder of how intrusive and trivialising the media can be once they are travelling in packs. It’s also a smashingly paced musical comedy, stuffed with black humour reminiscent of the savage absurdism of Joan Littlewood’s Oh What A Lovely War with an occasional dash of Tom Lehrer.
By now many of you will have already had your workplace’s festive night out, and maybe (just maybe) it wasn’t that crash hot watching the office clown do the same routine as for the last five years. So why not go out for a night that you’ll really enjoy, with professional comic entertainers?
With a welcome return for some favourites and Australian debuts for others, the First Release line up of the Sydney Comedy Festival includes Dylan Moran, Danny Bhoy, The Umbilical Brothers, Adam Hills, Mark Watson, Tony Woods, Sugar Sammy, Tim Minchin, Pablo Francisco and Shane Warne The Musical.
