After two months of audience-judged heats at the A-List comedy rooms in both Manly and Oatley, the final of 5 Minutes of Funny took place on Monday March 1st at the Old Manly Boatshed.

Whilst I must admit that I am happy that I know longer need to write the words ‘Quest For The Best’ together again for at least a few months (I must have written it at least a hundred times in the lead up to the event) I am feeling a little bit hollow without the date looming towards me anymore.
Well the big Quest For The Best Final is just a couple of sleeps away and I for one am very excited!

The annual national comedy competition with all shows taking place in Canberra fires up again on July 2nd and puts on a show every Thursday night until September 10th.
The heats are organised by State capitals, with contestants from Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra taking their turn each week. Each show features a lineup of top new comedians plus a veteran comedian as MC – a great chance to see some old favourites alongside the next big talents!

The 2009 Raw Comedy Grand Final was held last night in the Melbourne Town Hall…Nominees for two major Melbourne International Comedy Festival awards have been announced: the Barry Award for the Most Outstanding Festival show, and the memorial Golden Gibbo award for Best Independent Production. The winners will be announced next Saturday 25 April.
