Comedy Stars Farewell the Year That Was
Presented by TIM WOODS ENTERTAINMENT
2010 – The International Year of Biodiversity has certainly been….diverse!
That Was The Year That Was is back for its third year as Australia’s Comedy Gala Event of the Year bringing together our finest comedians for a no-holds-barred review of 2010. Hosted by James O’Loghlin, That Was The Year That Was stars Mikey Robins, Peter Berner; Jeff Green, Hannah Gadsby, Rod Quantock, Paul McCarthy, Clayton Doley’s and Organ Donors….Plus many more!
Based on the award-winning BBC TV program, That Was The Week That Was – launched in 1962, That Was The Year That Was is a ground-breaking satirical comedy show bringing together a variety of comic styles under Sydney’s most famous roof.
That Was The Year That Was yet again presents a side-splitting appraisal of how we kicked off a brand new decade, with a few tough decisions along the way – 2010 proved to be something of a ‘second time lucky’ kind of year…but politics or sport…we got there in the end. Headlining at the Sydney Opera House on Wednesday 29 & Thursday 30 December 2010, the show will bring 2010 to an end with a comical run down of its highs and lows.
Poking its head out of the GFC, 2010 was the Year of the Tiger…in more ways than one. We started with KRudd and ended with JLard. The Aussie dollar went up and up whilst the Commonwealth Games nearly fell down. Volcanic ash covered the sky. Oil spills covered the oceans. There were earthquakes and aftershocks, tremors and tornadoes. And we still don’t really know who won Australia’s Next Top Model.
This year’s big questions and more will be answered and explored when That Was The Year That Was returns to the Concert Hall stage. Featuring Australia’s best comedians and entertainers this year’s line-up will slice, dice and julienne the news and views of 2010 like a 6 year old in the Masterchef Kitchen.
So before we move swiftly on to 2011… (the year of Oprah?) let’s take a moment to look back and reflect on the year Australia was governed by a Welsh redhead, grounded by an Icelandic volcano; and gripped by the stranded Chilean miners… That Was The Year That Was 2010.
