Sydney newbies: wanna do a comedy course for free?

Free comedy course in Sydney (for some)

Free comedy course in Sydney (for some)

There is a catch, but it’s a good one – I’ve spoken to the organisers and they’re upfront people, who have Reasons for being mysterious until they’ve finalised the course participants. You have to email them to find out whether you’re willing to take up their conditions, but if you do you will get expert guidance for 8 sessions over 4 weeks from a 25+ year veteran of the comedy industry, Rob McHugh, who has worked in standup, television, radio and comedy writing in his time, and who has been running comedy courses for over 6 years.

Rob’s expertise means he can save you hours/weeks/months of time building your routines, by helping you focus on the material that really works for you as a performer. As Rob says, in his time he’s either seen every possible mistake a comic can make or made some of those mistakes himself, so he knows what to steer newbies away from so that they can concentrate on their comedy strengths and move forward in the biz.

So why not check it out? Email or phone (02) 9437 2105

N.B. Please don’t ask questions in comments about the details of the freebie opportunity – ring the organisers to find out what’s going on, and then please don’t post any spoilers.

I would highly recommend anyone to take up this opportunity.
Rob McHugh is a great Comic and a great Teacher.

I have both emailed and called these guys today and am now waiting (hoping)to hear back from them!

Hopefully I can get picked for these classes and have some entertaining stories to share with everyone in my blog after the course has finished!

It would be great if you do get to take part, Joey. It’s important for new comics to get feedback from as wide a range of teachers/mentors as possible, and if you can get that for free it’s even better.
